Christmas is celebrated globally with great joy and excitement. It is the time of the year when people take a break from the rush of daily life and sit back to cherish the moment, indulge in festive vibe and spread happiness all around. It is a day which reminds everybody of the importance of goodness of spirit.

Indulging in the festive joy, students of Apeejay Svran Global School, celebrated Christmas with a lot of enthusiasm on December 24.

The celebration started with a soulful rendition of the Gayatri Mantra by class 10 student, Sammar. Deepti recited the morning prayers.  Class nine student, Jia Zutshi, was the compere for the assembly. Ahana Punj recited the school pledge and class 8 student Maisha Rai presented the news headlines. Mansi presented the thought for the day.

On the joyous occasion of Christmas, Bhoomi Sharma was felicitated by Principal Mrs Deepika Arora.  She won a gold medal and a certificate for being the youngest child under five years of age to have recited the Gayatri Mantra eleven times within a minute. Her name has found a place in the prestigious India Book of Records 2022 for such an amazing feat.

Class 9 student Varun Bamba made a wonderful presentation on the historical significance of Christmas and its cultural traditions. Jia Zutshi conducted a quiz about Christmas, all students participated with great zeal in the quiz. Class 9 student Shriram described the significance of the Christmas tree and the attributes used for its decoration.

Class 9 student Anshika recited a poem on Christmas. The audience was captivated by a rap song written and composed by class 8 student, Shaurya Dhankar.

Christmas Day is incomplete without the charisma of music and dance.  Christmas Carols were sung in the background of the traditional song of Jingle Bells. Class Nursery and Kindergarten students came dressed in red and white and wore Santa Claus caps for the occasion. Their dance performance on Jingle Bells and BTS Dynamite songs was the showstopper event.

Kindergarten students celebrated Christmas by watching a video on the birth of Jesus Christ. They also engaged in special activities such as cake decoration, carol singing, dance performances and fancy dress. They also made a Santa Claus using a variety of fruits and bread slices.

Students of class 1-5 engaged in competitions such as: gift wrapping, letter-writing to Santa, dressing up as Santa Claus or an elf and speaking about Christmas.

Education officer, Mrs Purnima Vohra Ma’am and Principal, Mrs Deepika Arora, addressed the students and wished them Merry Christmas.

“Christmas reminds us of the warmth hidden inside the heart of the winter season. It is that time of the year when we celebrate the goodness inside our hearts and spread joy around on the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ.  Christmas also signals the arrival of the New Year and with it the countless new possibilities and opportunities for all. I would like to wish all Apeejay students all the best for the coming year coming ahead and Merry Christmas to all”
