Ananya Chopra (18), an exceptional alumna of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, has brought immense pride to her alma mater and her parents by securing an impressive rank in this year’s National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). With her unwavering determination and remarkable talent, she cracked the papers in her first attempt. The young girl aspires to pursue a career in medicine and make a meaningful contribution to society.

Known for her exemplary academic performance throughout her school years, Ananya has always been a role model for her peers. Her teachers and fellow students speak highly of the dedication, perseverance, and passion she brings to her studies. Ananya’s doctor-parents have been a pillar of support, nurturing her dreams and encouraging her to excel. The achiever says, “I secured 696 out of 720 marks. I am happy with the result, however, the competition in these papers has increased manifold. In my house, there was a lot of excitement at the time of the announcement of the results.”

NEET is one of the most competitive medical entrance examinations in the country, attracting lakhs of aspiring doctors each year. As of 2023, over 20 lakh aspirants applied for the exam. Ananya’s hard work finally paid off when she emerged with a commendable rank, securing a place among the top achievers. Her success is a testament to her relentless efforts and the guidance she received from her teachers.

Ananya’s ambition to become a doctor stems from her deep-rooted desire to contribute to society. She has long been inspired by the selfless service of doctors, who bring healing and hope to those in need. Her dream is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others, and she sees medicine as the perfect avenue to fulfill that aspiration. She is inspired by her parents, her father is a Radiologist and mother an IVF Specialist.

“Growing up, I saw my parents attend to patients even at midnight, take up emergency cases and work for long hours. I viewed it as an opportunity they have to serve people. I wanted to do it too. In my opinion, the profession of a doctor is extremely fulfilling and provides great exposure.”

During her time at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Ananya actively participated in various extracurricular activities, showcasing her well-rounded personality. She excelled not only academically but also in cultural events, displaying a balanced approach to life. “It was in class 8 or 9 when I got to know about competitive-based examinations like NEET and JEE. Then for three years the school provided me with consistent support and classes to prepare for the said exams. Closer to the exam, I also took focused classes from a Jalandhar-based coaching institute to crack the papers.”

With her NEET results, Ananya has laid a solid foundation for her journey towards becoming a doctor. Her next step is to gain admission to a reputable medical college in the national capital, where she can further cultivate her skills and knowledge. Her determination, coupled with the unwavering support of her parents and the guidance of her mentors, ensures that she is well-equipped to overcome any challenges that come her way. At present, she is excited to start her educational journey and hopes to build meaningful bonds in the new city.

Ananya’s achievement is an inspiration for many aspiring students in Jalandhar. For future NEET aspirants, she says, “The study may put a break on your hobbies but keep at it. Two years of classes 11 and 12 may be tough but don’t lose out on doing something else apart from studies. I often used to dance to my favourite Bollywood music at home to have a mental break. This was my way of de-stressing.”

As Ananya sets forth on her path to become a doctor, we join her well-wishers in applauding her accomplishments and wishing her the very best for her future endeavours. May her journey be filled with fulfillment, and may she continue to shine as a beacon of hope for others.
