‘I wish I could turn back the time’: Poem by Ashrita Mulchandani, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

I wish I could turn back the time
To fix the past, erase the crime.
I’d hold on tight to every day,
Before the moments slipped away.
But time moves on, no second glance,
And all I’ve lost, I’ll miss the chance.
Yet here I stand, with lessons learned,
From all the bridges I have burned.
And now I sit here stranded and alone,
Thinking of the things that I have been told.
People come and people go,
But I still wonder—why so cold?
The memories fade, but not the pain,
Like echoes lost in falling rain.
I reach for hands that once were there,
But find the silence everywhere.
The world spins on, yet I stay still,
Trapped by thoughts I cannot kill.
I wonder if the fault was mine,
Or just the cost of losing time.
