Rakhi, the festival that celebrates the beautiful bond between siblings, is just around the corner. As you prepare to cherish this special day, here are some tips to make your rakhi celebration truly memorable.

If you are still wondering about the decor for the day, Nidhi Suhag, Assistant Professor at School of Design and Visual Arts, Apeejay Stya University (ASU) shares a few simple yet unique home décor ideas to amplify the festive mood.

Create a memory wall: Give your Raksha Bandhan décor an emotional touch by creating a heartwarming memory wall. This heartfelt addition could showcase a collection of cherished pin-up photographs from your childhood, along with other treasured items that hold sentimental value. This thoughtful gesture not only infuses a heartfelt sentiment into your décor, but also serves as a beautiful tribute to the special bond you share with your siblings.

Rangoli: One can make rangoli with flowers instead of using coloured powder. It will give a different look and make the entryway look bright and beautiful. Add a diya or lights at the center of the floral rangoli to add some more warmth.

Colourful drapes and cushions: You can add colourful drapes and add a mix of cushion covers in the colour matching the drapes or you can go for contrast shades as well.

Fairy or twinkling lights: Adding colourful rice lights or twinkling fairy lights will give a festive look to your house. Fairy lights can be used to decorate doors, balconies or if you have enough time you can decorate one complete wall with rice lights.

Better placement of indoor plants: Indoor plants purify the air of the surroundings and enhance the look of the house. If you already have some indoor plants, then you can arrange them beautifully to enhance the mood for the celebration. You can also buy some new indoor plants like syngonium and peace lily.

In addition, “rakhi thali” decoration plays a significant role in enhancing the beauty and elegance of Raksha Bandhan celebrations. So, how to decorate them? Prof Nidhi suggests, “You can create a personalised thali by adding personal touches like photos of your brother and you. You can also go for flower rakhi thali decoration as blossoms are one of the most beautiful items found on plates of worship. You can go for roses, hibiscus, daisy or marigold for a bright colorful thali.”

With the above-mentioned tips you will be able to infuse your Rakhi celebration with more love, thoughtfulness, and joy. So, gear up to make this Rakhi an unforgettable day for you and your beloved sibling.
