Ancient learning methods have always stressed on students being connected with nature. And now, the same philosophy finds place in a new avatar in the current learning methodologies.
Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, recently hosted an engaging presentation on the Change of Seasons, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of students from Classes 1 and 2. The event focused on experiential learning, allowing young learners to explore the concept of seasons through hands-on activities and artistic expression.

Students eagerly participated, presenting beautifully crafted charts that illustrated the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each chart featured key characteristics of the seasons, such as weather changes, appropriate clothing, and associated activities. The young presenters articulated their ideas with clarity and enthusiasm, making the learning experience enjoyable for all.
The hands-on approach encouraged students to engage with the topic more deeply, as they created models, drew season-themed scenes, and dressed up to represent different seasons. This innovative method not only enhanced their understanding of the changing seasons but also boosted their communication skills and confidence.

Speaking about the activity, Primary teacher Ms. Anita mentioned, “Understanding the change in seasons helps young minds connect with nature. Our workshop for classes 1 and 2 was designed to spark curiosity, foster learning, and inspire students to observe and appreciate the world around them.”
Principal, Dr. Vineet Vashishthaand along with the teachers praised the students for their remarkable efforts and creativity, encouraging them to continue exploring and expressing their knowledge in imaginative ways. The event indeed exemplified the importance of learning through doing, fostering curiosity and a love for nature among the young students.
