Shourya Anand is an MBA student at Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka. He is specialising in marketing and operations and has recently completed his two-month long internship at Home First Finance.

In a quick interview, the management student speaks about his time at the college and how every lesson is chiselling him towards perfection.

 Read edited excerpts:

Two months translate into a comprehensive internship. What have been your learnings?

I was the business development intern at Home First Finance. My work involved meeting new clients and turning them into potential customers. Similarly, I had to meet new dealers for the company who could give us new cases for home loans. I used to go to the office daily.

I had a different kind of experience . I got to know a lot about the operations of the company, from their products to their USP (unique selling proposition). I also learned how to convince customers as well as keep my cool and patience. I was groomed properly at this internship.

Did you get this internship through the campus placement?

Yes. Home First Finance came to our college and fortunately, I was the only one from my batch to get selected.

Were you happy with the training given by the ASM placement cell?

Oh yes! They trained me very well for interviews and group discussions. The teachers frequently held such activities. So I was well versed with the interview procedure and was able to give my best without any fear.

And how is your MBA coming along?

I am enjoying pursuing my MBA and the experience at ASM is quite fantastic. I am studying here with the best of students. They are so helpful and the teachers are very supportive too. They teach a topic until every student is thorough with it.

Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

Hopefully at a top position in a FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) company or in the banking/finance sector. This MBA is in sync with my career aspirations.

And finally, one key lesson learned at ASM?

Be disciplined! This is the key to success.
