Apeejay School of Management (ASM) continues to demonstrate its commitment to academic excellence and faculty development by organising specialised training programs. One such program, focusing on “Introduction to Multi-Criteria Decision Making,” was recently conducted by Dr. Vernika Agarwal, a distinguished faculty member specialising in Operations and Analytics. As part of the ongoing Faculty Training Program, this session was designed to enhance the decision-making capabilities of internal faculty members by providing them with a comprehensive understanding of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques.

Dr. Agarwal’s session emphasised the importance of MCDM in scenarios where multiple criteria need to be evaluated simultaneously, making it a crucial tool in both academic and real-world decision-making processes. The training covered key MCDM techniques, including the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Best Worst Method (BWM), providing participants with a solid theoretical foundation in these methodologies.

The program was structured to be highly interactive, ensuring that the faculty members not only learned about these techniques but also practiced them hands-on. Dr. Agarwal facilitated practice sessions using Excel, which allowed participants to apply the MCDM techniques in real-time scenarios. This practical approach was instrumental in enhancing their analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.

The training session received positive feedback from the participants, who appreciated the opportunity to gain practical experience with MCDM tools. The interactive nature of the workshop enabled them to clarify doubts, share experiences, and understand the application of these techniques in their teaching and research activities. The practical exercises in Excel were particularly beneficial, as they provided a clear understanding of how to implement MCDM methods effectively.

This training program is a part of Apeejay School of Management’s broader initiative to ensure continuous faculty development. By equipping faculty members with advanced analytical tools and techniques, the institution aims to foster an environment of academic excellence and innovation. The knowledge gained from this session will undoubtedly enhance the faculty’s ability to teach complex decision-making processes and contribute to more informed and effective research outcomes.

Overall, the session on “Introduction to Multi-Criteria Decision Making” was a resounding success, reflecting Apeejay School of Management’s dedication to providing its faculty with the best possible resources for their professional development. The program not only enriched the faculty’s skill set but also strengthened their ability to integrate advanced decision-making methodologies into their curriculum, thereby benefiting their students and the broader academic community. As the Dwarka-based B school  continues to prioritise faculty development, it sets a high standard for academic institutions striving for excellence in education and research.
