While pursuing BTech in Cloud Computing from ASU, Prachi Agarwal not only learned about her subject but was also groomed to develop her soft skills, she says in an interview. The Gurugram-based alumna now works as a Team lead, CRM Masters InfoTech LLP, a cloud-based company. Read on to know more about her professional journey.

Why did you choose cloud computing?

I wanted to do something different. Cloud computing was rapidly emerging at the time. I researched the subject and thought of pursuing it as a career. My current job profile is also related to the field. I am happy I chose the course in the first place.

What was the journey at ASU like?

My parents did not want me to go out of the city to study. In Gurugram, Apeejay Stya University turned out to be the best choice and that is why I enrolled there. The lovely infrastructure with abundant greenery is what attracted me.

I learned a lot throughout my academic journey at ASU, between 2015-19. We had interesting classes and our professors guided us well. My communication skills improved, thanks to the personal skill development classes we had. What I liked the most about ASU was the concept of major and minor subjects. For the minor subject, we had classes with students from other courses, which gave us the opportunity to interact with each other. I learned French at that time, which was an added qualification that helped me acquire a better position in the industry.

What has your professional journey been like so far? What have you learned?

I have been fortunate to have had very good professional growth. I joined my current company in 2020 at a junior level and now I am already the team lead. Throughout my journey, I have gained a lot of knowledge about cloud computing.

What does your work at CRM Masters involve?

I work with US, Canada, and UK-based clients and help streamline their business processes using Salesforce or Zoho, which are cloud-based software.

As a team leader, what are the things you keep in mind when it comes to managing a team?

For me, working as a team is of foremost importance where everybody is treated with respect. I make sure to help my juniors in their work and try to understand them better. I talk to them personally and try my best to resolve their issues.

What are the career prospects in cloud computing in India?

Cloud computing is booming. There are plenty of job opportunities, from cloud developer to cloud engineer and architect, with good salary packages. Companies like Google, Deloitte, and Accenture, among several others, are offering good opportunities in cloud computing.
