Art is not defined by any boundaries. It travels beyond the horizon of one’s thought.

With the advent of winter and the onset of the festive season, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park has taken a step forward on the virtual platform by organising an art exhibition: Resplendence – A Colourful Journey Through Canvas. The programme commenced with seeking the blessings of the Almighty. This artistic extravaganza was graced by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Megha Kapoor, Vice President, Water Colour Society of India, along with stalwarts in education such as Dr. V. S. Garg, Education Advisor, Apeejay Education Society, other education officers, colleagues from sister schools, teachers and parents from all Apeejay branches.

The exhibition was divided into the primary wing and the senior wing.

In the primary wing, children created exquisite examples of Ganesh Art, Abstract Art, African Art, Warli Art, Mandala and other exclusive paintings with the integration of subjects.

In the senior wing, the magnificent art masterpieces created by the young ones included manifestations of eclectic genres such as Abstract Art, Diffusion Art, Madhubani Art, landscapes in varied  acrylic, oil and poster colours, graphic patterns, portraits in watercolour, pencil shading and Gond Art.

Prize-winning paintings of the academic session 2021-22 were the highlight of the display of senior wing section paintings.

Said the Principal, Ms. Ritu Mehta: “The art exhibition displayed the unconventional artistic work by our students in its refined and elegant form. The children had created these magnificent art pieces in their regular art classes. Our teachers constantly guided them to design different forms of art work with the integration of subjects so that our children remain busy in the pandemic. None of us will deny that this year also has been extremely challenging for all of us, but at Apeejay we have tried to keep our children busy in developing their creative abilities.”

Mrs Megha Kapoor, the Chief Guest for the occasion, encouraged young artists to pursue a career in the fine arts. She said: “Art augments creativity, imagination and provides propitious opportunities to children to think and express themselves independently while developing social awareness.  Colours bring happiness in one’s life, thereby dispelling the melancholic gloominess and no time is more pertinent than this. Today’s event is a well thought of initiative by Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, to give an opportunity to young buds to express themselves through colours on canvas and make them bloom in an aesthetic and joyful manner.”

Vice Principal, Ms. Shalini Agarwal, congratulated the entire team and said that the students had put in their best efforts by combining passion and commitment with their artistic brilliance. “However, this event wouldn’t have been possible without the constant guidance of the parents who always encouraged and strengthened their wards to bring out their best.  My sincere gratitude to all the parents who have worked incessantly with their wards to make this event see the light of the day.”

“Pablo Picasso, the famous Spanish painter, rightly said, “Every child is an artist.” How true were his words!  Through ‘Resplendence’, our young artists have tried their best to put forth their feelings on the canvas using vibrant colours and communicate their thoughts with all of you.”
