‘Memories of the rain’: Poem by Manushree, Apeejay School, Noida

Waking up by the sound of rain
Reminds me of the old game,
When we lived up above the hill
And our life was relaxed and chill.

When we used to dance in the rain,
Oh! I wish those days could come again.
The way we used to laugh and play
With all those pebbles, mud, and clay.

There I remember that one day,
Which I wish could forever stay,
When I got a beautiful cat
Who had cotton-like fur and was a bit fat.

Oh, she was an adorable one,
Who loved to eat and have fun.
But one day, I don’t know why,
She ran away without saying goodbye.

So, I wish I could see her again,
And play with her in this rain,
And listen to her loud purr,
And cuddle in her soft fur.
