The Korean Cultural Center India under its ‘Indian School Project’ recently conducted a storytelling program at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. New-age students with the advent of cross-cultural shows on digital media are extremely excited to learn about Korean culture. This program provided students the perfect opportunity to acquire knowledge about the cultural heritage of the Korean nation.

Students of classes 7 and 8 got the opportunity to watch the play: Faithful Daughter Sim Cheong. The play brought forth the messages of morality and humanity. Students were reminded of the importance of emotional bonding within the family system, in particular between a father and daughter. The students were further enchanted with the picturesque depictions of Korean villages, sea, pirates and royalty on the stage. The artists staged a flawless performance as all students and teacher watched with enrapt attention.

Sandeep Singh Kathuria, Principal of the school and Shalini Agrawal, Vice Principal, praised each and every artist and appreciated how they swept away the audience with their mesmerising performance.
The artists were requested to conduct more such beautiful storytelling sessions, where students could learn about Korean culture.
Speaking about the event, Agrawal said, “What an amazing experience it was not only for the students but for all the faculty who could attend the performance. The artists showcased a folk tale, which had so many values imbibed in it and brought tears to the eyes of the students in various scenes.” She further added, “The students learned that family ties and values are as important in Korean culture as in India. It shows that the world is one.”
