Rahul Yadav is working in the automobile industry. He is the Deputy Manager at Krishna Ishizaki Auto Ltd located in Haryana. For the past two years, Rahul has been handling the manufacturing and quality of the finished products. In an exclusive interview, Rahul reminisces about his college time, outings with friends, working on high-tech projects as well as shares his vision of embarking on an automobile startup journey in the near future. Edited excerpts:

Please tell us a bit about your current work profile?

Well, we basically manufacture side mirrors, outside and inside rear view mirrors for Maruti, Honda and Mazda. Initially I was deployed in the quality assurance department. But two years ago, we localised a product and I was the leader in that process. So, I am in the manufacturing and quality department now, looking after the assembly area of a particular component. I am heading this unit.

What was the inspiration to join this line of work?

During my college days, I was highly interested in automobiles. This was always a passion for me. Also, my uncle worked in Hero Moto Corp and that gave me the motivation and my interest grew to join this field.

Please share some of your best memories from the Apeejay School of Engineering and Technology campus?

I loved the outings with my friends. During our last semester, we made some interesting projects. I and my teammates, Rahul Sharma and Puneet Mittal, worked on the prototype for the metro train. These are some beautiful memories now. I spent four splendid years on campus.

What life lessons would you like to give to the current batch of students?

I will tell them that college life is a one-time experience. So, focus on your career and at the same time, enjoy the four years there. But you must always keep a focus on your individual as well as academic growth. Both will guide you towards success in your future.

What are your future targets?

Maybe after a few years, I will open my startup dealing in some automobile products.

How did Apeejay School of Engineering and Technology help you to pursue your passion?

As I got enrolled in college, I got a sense of direction in my life. After school, I was not clear about my future. My mindset changed after coming to college. I became aware of my strengths and clear about my career aims.
