Hindi Diwas brings language and culture to life
Young learners at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, celebrate Hindi through words, expression, and creativity
Hindi is not merely a means of communication. It also carries the culture, emotions and values of a society. This connection between language and identity came alive during the Hindi Diwas celebration at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri.
Organised for students of Classes I and II, the event sought to nurture love and respect for Hindi. It also encouraged the young learners to express themselves confidently in their mother tongue.
Learning through expression
The programme brought together learning, creativity and entertainment. Students participated in poem recitations, speeches, role plays and other language-based activities. Each presentation gave them a chance to explore the richness of Hindi while speaking before an audience.
The poetry recitations lent a musical quality to the programme. Young speakers also shared their thoughts on the importance of Hindi, along with interesting facts and messages about the language. Their clear pronunciation and confident delivery reflected careful preparation and the guidance of their teachers.
The role plays were another engaging part of the celebration. Through dialogue, expressions and actions, students brought different characters and situations to life. The performances entertained the audience while helping the children improve their vocabulary, communication skills and stage presence.
Building confidence through participation
The activities showed how language learning becomes more meaningful when children are encouraged to speak, perform, create and communicate. Every participant received an opportunity to learn and express ideas. This helped strengthen both linguistic and social skills.
Appreciating the students’ participation, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, Principal of the school, said: “Hindi is an integral part of our rich cultural heritage and a powerful medium of expression. I am delighted to see the students of Classes I and II celebrating Hindi Diwas with such confidence and enthusiasm. I appreciate the sincere efforts of our teachers in providing meaningful learning opportunities.”
The celebration left the young learners with a deeper appreciation of Hindi. More importantly, it showed them that language can be understood and enjoyed through active participation.
