The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the registration window for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on September 1. CBSE reopened the application process on August 25 for the 22nd edition of CTET. The registration window had originally closed on June 10, but was reopened to allow candidates who could not submit their applications earlier to register for the examination.

The application link is currently available on the official CTET website–ctet.nic.in.  Importantly, candidates who have already submitted their applications during the earlier registration period do not need to apply again.

September 6 exam date postponed

The development comes after the examination, which was earlier scheduled to be held on September 6, 2026, was postponed. CBSE is expected to announce the revised examination date after the reopened application process concludes.

The board’s decision to reopen registrations means that candidates will now have to wait for an official announcement regarding the new examination schedule.

CTET is one of the country’s major eligibility examinations for candidates aspiring to become teachers at the elementary level. The examination consists of two papers—Paper I for candidates intending to teach Classes I to V and Paper II for those intending to teach Classes VI to VIII. Candidates seeking eligibility for both levels can appear for both papers.

Candidates who are yet to register should avoid waiting until the last minute and complete the application process before the September 1 deadline. They should carefully enter their personal and educational details, upload the required documents and complete the fee payment as per the instructions provided on the application portal.

Those who have already registered are advised to regularly check the official CTET website for updates regarding the revised examination date and other important announcements.

Candidates are advised to rely on official announcements for confirmation of the revised CTET September 2026 examination date, rather than unverified reports or social media posts.

For the latest updates and application-related information, candidates can visit the official CTET website.
