Recently, Apeejay School, Pitampura, organised an enriching professional development workshop on Joyful Learning Spaces, reaffirming its commitment to fostering engaging, inclusive, and student-centred classrooms. The session was designed to empower teachers with practical strategies to create learning environments where every child feels safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
The workshop was conducted by experienced educators Ms Preeti Gaur, Ms Neha, and Ms Mini, who guided participants through a series of interactive activities, collaborative discussions, and hands-on exercises. The facilitators highlighted the importance of transforming classrooms into spaces that nurture curiosity, creativity, emotional well-being, and meaningful participation.
During the workshop, teachers explored the key elements of joyful learning, including building positive classroom relationships, ensuring emotional safety, encouraging student voice, and adopting engaging pedagogical practices. Through experiential activities and real-life classroom scenarios, participants reflected on how thoughtful teaching approaches can enhance students’ confidence, curiosity, and overall learning outcomes.
The facilitators also shared practical techniques to make lessons more interactive and learner-centric. Teachers discussed innovative ways to encourage collaboration, celebrate individual strengths, and create a classroom culture where children feel comfortable expressing themselves and taking ownership of their learning journey.

One of the highlights of the session was the emphasis on the teacher’s role in shaping a positive learning environment. Participants reflected on how enthusiasm, empathy, encouragement, and effective communication can inspire students to develop a lifelong love for learning. The workshop encouraged educators to move beyond traditional teaching methods and embrace practices that make learning enjoyable, relevant, and memorable.
The interactive format of the workshop enabled teachers to exchange ideas, share classroom experiences, and collectively explore solutions to common educational challenges. The collaborative atmosphere reinforced the value of continuous professional learning and innovation in teaching practices.
The workshop concluded with a shared pledge among educators to create classrooms where every child feels respected, included, and excited to learn each day. By investing in teacher development and promoting joyful learning experiences, the school continues to strengthen its vision of providing holistic education that nurtures academic excellence alongside emotional and social well-being.
