Apeejay School, Saket, commemorated the 102nd birth anniversary of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, the revered First Lady of the Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, with the vibrant Rajeshwari Kala Utsav. Reflecting her enduring vision of nurturing creativity, culture, and holistic education, the school organised a series of inspiring programmes that celebrated the transformative power of the arts while introducing students to India’s rich cultural heritage.
The celebrations commenced with a solemn prayer ceremony, creating an atmosphere of reverence and gratitude. Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Sujeet Eric Masih paid tribute to the remarkable legacy of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul and shared a special message from Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, highlighting her unwavering commitment to promoting art, culture, and value-based education. The message underscored how Smt. Rajeshwari Paul believed that education extends beyond academic excellence and must nurture creativity, compassion, and aesthetic appreciation among young minds.

The cultural programme that followed showcased the extraordinary artistic talents of the students. Soul-stirring bhajans filled the auditorium with devotion, while graceful dance performances reflected elegance and discipline. Melodious instrumental presentations further captivated the audience, demonstrating the students’ dedication and passion for the performing arts. Each performance beautifully echoed the values of creativity, expression, and cultural appreciation that Smt. Rajeshwari Paul championed throughout her life.
Adding another memorable dimension to the celebrations, Apeejay School, Saket, in collaboration with SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth), organised an enchanting Kathak recital that immersed students in the beauty of India’s classical dance traditions.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the triumph of knowledge and wisdom. This was followed by an introduction to SPIC MACAY and its mission of preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage by connecting young learners with distinguished practitioners of classical arts.

The highlight of the event was the spellbinding performance by Padma Shri Dr. Shovana Narayan, one of India’s most celebrated Kathak exponents. Her graceful expressions, intricate footwork, and remarkable storytelling enthralled the audience as she presented the Draupadi Prasang from the Mahabharata. Accompanied by a talented ensemble of musicians, the recital brought alive the emotional depth and timeless beauty of Indian classical dance, leaving students and teachers mesmerised.
The event concluded with an engaging interactive session, during which Dr. Narayan shared valuable insights into the discipline, dedication, and lifelong learning required to master Kathak. Students enthusiastically interacted with the renowned artiste, gaining a deeper appreciation of the art form and its cultural significance.
The twin celebrations served as a fitting tribute to the life and legacy of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul Ji. By blending student performances with an inspiring classical recital, Apeejay School, Saket reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who value creativity, culture, and lifelong learning. The event left participants inspired to embrace India’s rich artistic heritage while carrying forward the ideals of excellence, compassion, and holistic education that continue to define the Apeejay ethos.
