Born and raised in Delhi, Girish Bhatia (batch 2000) credits his years at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, with shaping his outlook early on. After graduating from SRCC and completing his MBA, he built a career in financial services and is now a CFA charter holder. Today, he returns to the same campus as a parent; his daughter Tanisha studies in Class II.

In this candid interview, this alumnus-parent talks about the values that this school still guides him with, among other things.

How and what brought you back to this school for your daughter?

The school’s strong infrastructure, focus on holistic development, proximity to our home, and our confidence in its ability to deliver a well-rounded education led us to choose it again.

What stands out most from your child’s time at the school?

The early exposure children receive, along with a balanced emphasis on academies and extracurricular activities, stands out the most.

Was there a teacher or moment that had a lasting impact on you?

The overall quality of the academic staff, class batch, intellectual environment, and exposure to diverse perspectives had a lasting impact on me.

How is the school shaping Tanisha beyond academics?

The school is building her confidence, encouraging active participation, and nurturing her interests beyond academics. For example, Tanisha has recently taken up evening skating classes at school. Most importantly, she looks forward to going to school each day with enthusiasm.

Values from the school that still guide you

Confidence, discipline, respect for colleagues and a well-rounded approach to personal and academic growth continue to guide me.

What feels familiar and what is new?

Familiar aspects include the open spaces, large playgrounds, canteen, and auditorium. New additions include modern classroom facilities, improved infrastructure, air-conditioned rooms, and a stronger focus on overall child development

What experiences do you want your daughter to have here?

I would like Tanisha to build strong friendships, develop meaningful bonds with teachers and school leadership, and grow into a confident, well-rounded individual.
