Celebrating the inspiring life and legacy of Dr. Stya Paul

Apeejay Stya University (ASU) Gurugram celebrated the Founder’s Day with deep reverence, enthusiasm, and a heartfelt tribute to its visionary founder, late Dr. Stya Paul, whose ideals continue to illuminate the path of education and human values. The occasion served as a reminder of the Founder Chairman’s lifelong dedication to empowering generations through knowledge, ethics, and compassion.

The celebration commenced with a warm welcome and an insightful introduction to the inspiring life and legacy of Dr. Stya Paul. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tributes before his portrait, symbolising enlightenment and respect. A short film titled “The Man with a Vision” was screened, beautifully encapsulating Dr. Stya Paul’s extraordinary journey and his unwavering commitment to spreading the light of education and human values.

A special highlight of the event was the reading of the message from Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education. In her message, Mrs Berlia emphasised the importance of continuing the Founder Chairman’s mission of “excellence with ethics, compassion, and social responsibility.” Her words inspired everyone to uphold the values that form the cornerstone of Apeejay’s educational philosophy — one that nurtures not just intellect, but character.

The cultural segment of the programme was a true reflection of the University’s vibrant community spirit. Students presented soulful bhajans, a multilingual poetry recitation (Mushaira), and an array of cultural performances that highlighted the University’s diversity and creative energy. The performances evoked emotions of pride, gratitude, and belonging, uniting the audience in a shared sense of purpose and inspiration.

One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the presentation of the Dr. Stya Paul Human Value Award. This prestigious honour was conferred upon Liannaka Dadi from the School of Engineering and Technology for exemplifying the spirit of human values through her sincerity, humility, and dedication to service. Her recognition stood as a testament to the University’s commitment to nurturing individuals who combine academic excellence with moral integrity.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. Ahirwal, followed by the distribution of prasad, creating a serene and reflective atmosphere. As the celebration came to a close, students, faculty, and guests left with renewed inspiration to carry forward Dr. Stya Paul’s timeless vision of “education for life and education for values.”
