Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) welcomed its new batch of students with a vibrant and engaging Orientation Programme held at the institute campus. The event not only familiarised fresher’s with the institute’s academic format, faculty, infrastructure, but also created a positive environment for them to begin their creative journey.
The institute was filled with an air of positivity and the day was planned with various activities to inspire and motivate the design enthusiasts. The programme commenced with the welcome address by the academic coordinator, Ms. Satinder Kaur. She welcomed and inducted new students about the design journey, the creative exploration and self–discovery. Later, students were acquainted with their mentors and administrative support staff.


The key feature of the day was interaction with the flag bearers of the institute, the alumni members, Mr. Ranjan Singh, who did Bachelor’s in Multi Media and is currently heading the Creative Center at Vivo India, Ms. Parteeksha Srivastava, a fashion designer, with 13 years of experience in product design working as a Senior Product Developer at Surperdry and Ms. Shivani Jindal Gupta who completed her B.Design in Interior Design and currently she is a successful entrepreneur at Think Space Design Studio, Delhi and leading the firm as Principal Designer & Founder. Alumni interaction gave intriguing insights to the new students of their journey from classroom to career.

Further Ms. Garima J.Saini, faculty, introduced students to the rich legacy of AID and gave an overview about “LIFE at AID”. We were proud to share international collaborations, social concern projects undertaken , placements and internships and various awards and accolades received by the Institute
till date. The session was continued with Ms Anjali Taneja, co-curricular co-ordinator, who showcased various “Club Activities at AID”. Students were delighted to witness club activities and chose their clubs by volunteering via “Club Membership Forms”. Co-curricular activities help students to go beyond the academic curriculum to contribute to their holistic development and leadership qualities. Other prerequisites like “Stationary List ” and “Library Forms” were shared with students, to be well prepared for their upcoming classes. Lastly “Student’s Hand Book” was discussed for the code of conduct and other pertinent information like various committees and their office bearers were introduced with new students.

Freshers shared their enthusiasm of scaling new heights as design enthusiasts. “On my first day of college, I carried a mix of nervousness and excitement. However, the warm welcome at AID eased my nervousness. The polite and approachable nature of faculty and staff members reassured me that I had taken admission in the right place. Interaction with my fellow classmates, seniors and alumni helped me to connect . The day encouraged me to stay focused and embrace new learning opportunities. Overall, Orientation Day gave me a sense of belonging and boosted my confidence and excitement to make the most of the opportunities college life will offer,” shared Mahima Boura, GDP- I sem, Foundation programme.
Another student Kajal Dosadh, EDD – I sem, Interior Design shared, “The Orientation Day held at AID was a warm and inspiring beginning to our design journey. The welcome sessions, faculty introductions, and motivational talks gave us clarity and confidence, while the campus tour and interactive activities helped us connect with our peers and understand the creative environment of the institute. Overall, it was an engaging and well-organised program that gave us a true sense of belonging to the AID family.”
