He has honed himself in multitude skills like threat detection, cryptography and knowledge of security protocols. Meet Gursimar Singh Chahal who passed out of Apeejay School, Rama Mandi in 2023. In a candid interview with us, he reminisces his recollection of school days along with his plans ahead.

What are you pursuing now?
I’m currently pursuing a degree in Computer Systems Technology at Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario. This program focuses on networking, system administration, and foundational programming.
How is the cultural diaspora experience in Ontario?

Ontario is a city of incredible diversity, from cultural festivals to gurudwaras and Indian restaurants, it feels like a home away from home. It offers a unique opportunity to experience multiculturalism and meet people from all over the world.
What are your future aspirations and dreams?
My future aspiration is to become a certified IT professional with a specialization in cloud infrastructure or cybersecurity. I am passionate about technology and aim to contribute to creating secure and efficient digital systems. With continuous learning and dedication, I hope to build a successful career in the IT industry.
What are the recent trends in computer science with AI revolution?
How were the teachers at Apeejay School?
The teachers at Apeejay School were incredibly supportive and encouraging. They helped me in building a strong academic foundation. Their dedication continues to inspire me in my current academic and professional journey.
Share your favourite nostalgia from school.
My favourite school memory will always be the time spent with my classmates. The laughter, shared lunch breaks, and even the last-minute exam preps created bonds and memories I’ll always remember.
Any message for school students. Make the most of your time in school, stay curious, ask questions, and explore different fields. Soft skills like communication and teamwork are equally important as academic achievements.
