Math comes alive at Inter-house competition

Apeejay School, Noida hosts creative contest, showcasing students’ innovative presentations on mathematics’ real-life applications

Recently, Apeejay School, Noida, organised an exciting Inter-house Competition. The event, held in the LCD Room, was designed exclusively for students of Class XI. The theme of the competition focused on exploring the Applications of Mathematics in various fields.

Students from all four houses participated actively, creating captivating PowerPoint presentations. The aim was to show how Mathematics plays a key role in everyday life, as well as in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Economics.

Innovative presentations on real-world Math

Each team showcased creative and informative content through their presentations. They used diagrams, graphs, images, and real-life examples to demonstrate how mathematical concepts can be applied beyond textbooks.

From explaining how geometry is used in architecture to showcasing the role of statistics in economics, the students covered a wide range of topics. They also highlighted how mathematical thinking aids in problem-solving and decision-making in daily life.

The competition saw a wonderful display of teamwork, creativity, and research skills. The students’ efforts were praised for bringing complex mathematical concepts to life in an engaging and easy-to-understand manner.

Winning teams shine bright

The competition concluded with the announcement of both team-wise and house-wise results. In the team-wise category, Akshita Soni and Ishanya Kumar of Gandhi House impressed the judges with their exceptional presentation and secured the first position. Aryaveer Singh and Annika Tikha of Radhakrishnan House followed closely, winning the second position, while Keshav Prakash Gupta and Geet Mulwani of Tagore House bagged the third position.

In the house-wise results, Gandhi House emerged as the overall winner, followed by Tagore House in the second position, and Radhakrishnan House in third place.

Fostering confidence and skills

The event provided students with a valuable platform for experiential learning. It encouraged them to explore the practical aspects of Mathematics while also enhancing their presentation and communication skills.

The competition left the students feeling motivated and confident. It also emphasised the importance of mathematics in shaping their future careers and everyday decisions.

Through this well-planned and enriching activity, Apeejay School, Noida, once again demonstrated its commitment to holistic education that goes beyond the classroom.
