A vibrant day of collaboration, creativity, and joyful learning unfolded as students of Classes I to V and their teachers from The Champs International School were warmly welcomed to Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, for a unique educational exchange on May 3, 2025. With an exciting lineup of hands-on workshops, integrated subject-based activities, and interactive sessions, the event aimed to offer students a glimpse into the dynamic learning environment at Apeejay School. Designed thoughtfully for classes I to V, the day promised a perfect blend of fun, discovery, and inspiration.

The occasion began with a warm and gracious welcome extended to the Principal, Ms Snehlata Krishnan, Pre-primary In-Charge, Ms Gunjan Sharma, and Admissions Head, Ms Pooja Kohli. Apeejay School is delighted to host the esteemed teachers and enthusiastic students of The Champs International School for a day filled with joy, meaningful interaction, and enriching learning experiences. As we come together in the spirit of collaboration, creativity and curiosity, we look forward to making this a truly memorable day for all.

The unique exchange programme was a rich blend of activities, all in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020. It was a perfect amalgamation of learning and play designed to spark imagination and nurture holistic development. Students participated in a wide array of engaging experiences, including yoga, sports, ICT, craft and science-based fun activities. These interactions were a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent, cultivate new friendships and create lasting memories. The joyful day was filled with mutual learning and shared enjoyment, where the students indulged in thrilling games, exciting challenges and countless opportunities to shine. The focus of the day was to celebrate the true spirit of education and friendship.

And the day’s activities began with a yoga session by Ms Shanti. She led the students of Classes I and II through fun-filled yogic exercises that the students enjoyed immensely as they moved with their hands and feet in coordination. From becoming an aeroplane to a rocket, the young minds followed the instructions to the T. It was then time for Classes III to V to take the stage. Moving to the music, the students did several bending and jumping yogic exercises.

It was then time for Class I students to have some fun as they learnt shadow art. Each student enthusiastically participated and created different figures like a crocodile and even a bird that symbolised the Apeejay Education motto: Soaring High is My Nature, using their hands.

Ms Aarti Puri and Ms Sonu Sharma conducted the engaging Frame-tastic Art activity. Students enthusiastically pasted ice cream sticks to design creative picture frames. They further illustrated various animals using different numbers with crayons, blending artistic expression with numerical understanding. The session aimed to foster fine motor skills, creativity, number recognition, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving abilities.

In the Computer Lab, the students learnt how to speak the colour as well and not the word. It strengthened executive functioning, particularly attention control and cognitive flexibility, by encouraging students to shift mental gears quickly and respond appropriately.

Class II, mentored by Ms Archana and Dr Preetika Verma, delved into the world of science through Aerodynamic Explorations. The young learners designed and created hovercrafts, experimenting with principles of aerodynamics. They also crafted wind vanes to understand wind direction. This hands-on session not only encouraged creativity and problem-solving but also honed fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and built a foundational understanding of aerodynamics. Their self-made wind vanes served as a learning tool.

In Class IIIMs Arti Verma and Ms Shipra led the imaginative session titled Spin a Yarn. The storytelling activity required students to collaboratively build a narrative, with each participant contributing characters, events, or twists. The aim was to encourage quick thinking, creativity, and sequencing, while also enhancing communication. The students also created hand puppets and learnt the art of origami, and created a paper tiger. This activity was interactive as the students enthusiastically participated and took pride in their creations.

Students of Class IV, under the guidance of Ms Ritu Bhambani, explored two enriching activities. The first activity, Vedic Math, introduced children to ancient techniques for fast calculations instead of using the traditional long method of multiplication. They practised squaring numbers ending in 5 with a Vedic trick. The session boosted mental Math skills, speed, and accuracy.

The second activity, Symmetry with Ink, involved folding paper and applying ink to create symmetrical patterns. This visual and tactile experience developed students’ understanding of symmetry and fine motor skills. Their creations drew a lot of enthusiasm among the young learners as they gave names to what this activity involved.

The Class V, guided by Ms Vandana Lakhani, participated in two innovative sessions. In Upcycled Fashion. Here, the students created fashion accessories using discarded materials. This sustainable craft encouraged creativity and an understanding of eco-friendly practices. The second activity, Drama Creation, inspired children to express their imagination. This helped cultivate collaboration and problem-solving abilities while making learning fun and expressive!

For the teachers of The Champs International School, a special workshop was organised where they enthusiastically participated in a culinary activity. As a special token of appreciation, every student received a certificate and a kit at the end of the session, acknowledging their enthusiasm and involvement. The students also carried home with them their creations, like the hand puppet, wind vanes, symmetry artwork, and recycled jewellery.

As the vibrant day of learning and laughter drew to a close, students gathered with balanced minds and joyful hearts. The calm cultivated through yoga, interactive classrooms, and hands-on activities echoed in their spirited energy. With renewed enthusiasm and cherished memories, the session ended on a high note as all young voices united in the powerful affirmation — Soaring High is My Nature — a perfect culmination to an inspiring day at Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad.
