A recent report reveals that over half of Indian business leaders are actively using artificial intelligence (AI) to drive environmentally responsible practices, positioning India ahead of global and Asia-Pacific (APAC) averages. The study highlights a significant shift in mindset, with companies viewing sustainability as a core business strategy rather than just a compliance requirement.

Key Findings from the Report

AI Adoption for Sustainability: 52% of Indian business leaders report utilising AI to achieve sustainable outcomes, surpassing the global average of 39%.

Optimism About AI’s Impact: 79% of Indian leaders believe AI will positively transform their industries, higher than the global average of 69%.

Revenue Growth Through Sustainability: 86% of Indian business leaders believe sustainability initiatives could boost their annual revenue by over 5%.

Talent Attraction and Retention: Among digitally mature companies, 84% say sustainability efforts help attract and retain top talent.

Challenges and Future Outlook

Despite the positive trends, the report indicates challenges such as a shortage of skilled workers and the need for digital upskilling. Approximately 67% of Indian business leaders acknowledge that a lack of skilled talent is limiting their growth. To address this, 78% of companies plan to increase investment in digital skills training over the next three years.

In conclusion, Indian businesses are leading the way in integrating AI into sustainability strategies, demonstrating a commitment to both environmental responsibility and long-term growth.
