As the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 approaches, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has outlined specific dress code guidelines to ensure a smooth and secure exam process. While no mandatory uniform is prescribed, candidates must adhere to the following recommendations to avoid complications during security checks.

General Guidelines:

  • Simplicity and comfort: Candidates should opt for simple, comfortable clothing appropriate for the prevailing weather conditions. Lightweight and breathable fabrics are recommended.
  • Avoid metallic items: Attire containing metallic components like buckles or embellishments, should be avoided to prevent interference with security scanning devices.

For Male Candidates:

  • Headgear: Refrain from wearing caps, mufflers, or any form of head covering unless it is for religious purposes.
  • Jewelry: Items like chains, bracelets, and rings are strictly prohibited.
  • Footwear: Simple sandals or slippers are recommended; avoid shoes with thick soles.

For Female Candidates:

  • Accessories: Avoid stoles, dupattas, scarves, or any cloth that could delay security checks.
  • Jewelry: Refrain from wearing rings, earrings, bracelets, or any metallic items.
  • Footwear: Opt for low-heeled sandals or slippers; avoid footwear with thick soles.

Special Provisions for Diabetic Candidates:

Diabetic candidates can carry sugar tablets, fruits like bananas, oranges, or apples, and a transparent water bottle into the exam hall. It is advisable to monitor health and stay hydrated during the exam.

Exam Day Recommendations:

  • Early Arrival: Reach the exam centre at least an hour before the scheduled time to accommodate security procedures.
  • Document Checklist: Ensure possession of the JEE Main 2025 admit card, a valid photo ID, and a recent passport-size photograph.

By adhering to these guidelines, candidates can facilitate a hassle-free examination experience and focus on maximising their performance.
