Excursion to Jim Corbett: Students of this school take education beyond the classroom

Education is an ongoing process that doesn’t necessarily always happen in the classroom. Life is the perennial classroom and most life lessons are unconsciously learnt as we move through different ages and stages of work.  Apeejay School, Noida is aware of this fundamental law of education and to acquaint and equip their pupils with the same, the school organised a thrilling three-day excursion to the Jim Corbett National Park for the students of classes VII and VIII recently. A total of 120 enthusiastic students, accompanied by 11 dedicated teachers, embarked on this exciting adventure.

The trip offered a perfect blend of adventure and learning, allowing students to explore nature and engage in a wide variety of activities. Water surfing was one of the standout activities, providing the students with a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of the water while testing their coordination and balance. Another highlight of the trip was raft making, where the students had to collaborate, using their problem-solving skills to construct rafts that could float, encouraging teamwork and creativity. In addition to these thrilling water-based activities, students also enjoyed the adrenaline rush of zip-lining through the dense forest canopy.

One of the most memorable parts of the trip was a serene trek through the wilderness, where students had the chance to connect with nature and observe the diverse flora and fauna of the region. The trek was followed by a stunning sunrise that left the students in awe of the beauty of the park. The peaceful surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for reflection, and the group was able to bond while sharing their experiences.

Team-building games were an essential component of the excursion, instilling crucial qualities like leadership, healthy competition, and the importance of collaboration. These activities were designed to challenge students both mentally and physically, encouraging them to think creatively and work together to overcome obstacles.

The final evening was a celebration of all the hard work, fun, and friendships forged during the trip. The event was filled with lively music, energetic dance performances, and a heartwarming prize distribution ceremony that recognised the students’ active participation and sportsmanship.
