Recently, the pre-primary students at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park witnessed a vivacious Dussehra festival. The occasion was a blend of rich cultural learning and exuberant performances, showcasing the tremendous talent and confidence in the little ones. The young learners brought the timeless epic of The Ramayan alive with their charming enactments, which shocked the audience with the energy and enthusiasm of the little artists.
Preschoolers dressed up as Lord Ram, Sita, Hanuman, and the atrocious Ravan for the role play in the epic. Every child was a natural fit for the role he had undertaken and spoke eloquently while delivering his dialogue. It was extremely heartwarming to see these tiny tots as exemplars of these legendary figures and portraying the values of The Ramayan before their peers and teachers.
The teachers mentored the children through the drama; hence, the performances were entertaining as well as educational. The enactments revolved around the qualities of courage, honesty and determination through the characters of The Ramayan.

Speaking about the celebration, Ms Rachna Jain, Pre-primary Coordinator, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park said the young learners enthusiastically celebrated Dussehra. “The kids via role-play from the epic The Ramayan shared useful moral values. Dressed as Lord Ram, Sita, and Hanuman, the students showcased courage and honesty. Such celebrations bring about creativity, oneness, and a sense of respect for different customs at a young age.”
Interactive Story Session
A special storytelling session was conducted to make the children understand the importance of Dussehra. The story of The Ramayan was read in such an enchanting way using bright illustrations and interesting phrases while uttering it, mesmerising the young minds. All these were communicated very effectively to convey the essence of Dussehra – good triumphs over evil.
For the little ones, it was more than a festival; it was a chance to plunge into the values and teachings of The Ramayan most creatively and interactively and form beautiful memories. Vibrant costumes, expressive performances, and an interactive session with great storytelling made the day memorable for all students and teachers.

Such events not only create cultural value in children’s minds right from the tender age but are also a platform that can give them abundant opportunities through which creativity can bloom and self-confidence can be developed.
Overall, the Dussehra celebration at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park was a rich blend of cultural acquaintance and learning.
