Sherry Bhardwaj is an alumna of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) Jalandhar. She pursued her MBA in finance and bagged a job offer from ICICI Bank.

In a short fun conversation, Sherry speaks about her motivation behind government service, her time at the college and how it helps her in her current vocation.  Read edited excerpts:

Sherry, why didn’t you go for the corporate sector after MBA?

I had secured a great campus placement at ICICI Bank. I received a great placement with an amazing package for a fresher.

How did the institute prepare you for the placement process?

They prepared us 100%! The institute taught me a lot of tips and tricks for interviews, group discussions and qualifying exams. These things will be helping me in the government service qualification exams and rounds as well that I aspire to do in the future. Knowledge always helps!

So how did the MBA from Apeejay benefit you?

It benefited me in  a myriad ways but let me tell you how it helps me in my current situation. Be it aptitude or reasoning or banking or any other subject, the knowledge base I built at AIMETC made sure I don’t have to start from the scratch like other students. This saved me time and ensured I was ahead of others.

Any words for the AIMETC time?

I had a great time there. So many teachers motivated me so much. Rahul Handa sir, Ajwinder sir, their advice comes in handy even now. Also, I was lucky that many of my friends from graduation days joined AIMETC along with me. I also made some new lifetime friends at the college.

Did you participate in any activities?

I love painting and craft. However, at AIMETC, I was among the toppers hence I was more focussed in studies. But we had many competitions and festivals. Even the recent alumni meet was a hit.

Lastly, any advice for Government exam aspirants?

Consistency is key. Studying daily for 5-6 hours meaning the self study hours is a must. You have to study apart from the coaching hours.
