In the academic field, knowledge sharing is never-ending and therefore, it’s important for faculty members to attend workshops and sessions as these help in continuous professional development. It fosters a dynamic learning environment, enhances teaching methodologies, and keeps educators abreast of advancements in their fields, ensuring they deliver high-quality education to students and contribute meaningfully to academic discourse.
Thus, with an aim to exchange valuable insights on law teaching in the contemporary world, Assistant Professors Adnan Irshad and Ashish Rai from Apeejay’s School of Legal Studies recently represented the institute at Northern Region Law Teacher’s Conclave 2023-24.

Held at National Law University, Delhi, the Conclave was presided over by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Manmohan, Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. Delivering his keynote address, Hon’ble Justice threw light on the dire need to develop the standards of legal education in Indian Law Schools at par with the changing paradigms of the court proceedings in today’s world.
Thereafter, the participants witnessed a series of engaging sessions. These sessions were addressed by the notable legal luminaries including hon’ble Mr. Justice J R Midha, Professor of Practice & Retd. Judge, Delhi High Court, Dr. Lalit Bhasin, Founder, Bhasin & Co., Prof. G S Bajpai, VC, NLU Delhi, Prof. Shashikala Gurpur, Director, SLS, Pune, Prof. Devi Singh, Fr. VC, Flame University, Prof. Ruhi Paul, Registrar, NLU, Delhi, Mr. Deepak Gupta, Practicing Business Lawyer, Mr. C. V. Raghu, Group Legal Advisor, Motherson Group, Ms. Nandita Khurana, Sr. Partner, Anhad Law Solicitors, Ms. Richa Singh, General Counsel, Medanta Hospital etc. on various contemporary legal issues.
The Conclave inspired discussions on how educators can navigate the challenges and opportunities in the evolving landscape of legal education. The experts further discussed the competencies required for students to thrive in the global and dynamic workspace. Discussions also revolved around why law teachers just embrace technology.
Finally, Prof. Ruhi Paul, Registrar, NLU Delhi extended the vote of thanks.
