Class XII usually gets really stressful for the child and the parents alike owing to Board exams that play an important role in deciding the future of a child. Helping reduce this burden and ease the pressure that is building up should be the school’s top priority. Schools like Apeejay put the students’ welfare above all. Hence, parents like Rajan Sarup, father of Ria Sarup, a class XIII student at Apeejay School, Noida didn’t think twice when it came to the admission of his child. He also asserts that teachers’ advice at this school helps us hone our child better.

In a candid interview, he talks about how the regular discussions over coffee between teachers and parents support bridging the gap and understanding the roles and responsibilities better.

How did you go about selecting Apeejay as an admission choice?

We have been associated with Apeejay since the early 2000s and my elder daughter Rupal was also in the same school. I have seen my eldest child performing wonderfully in the school with the help of teachers, therefore I decided to put my second child in the same school too.

Is any pressure building up already for the upcoming Boards?

There is normal stress that every child has during X and XII but we as parents along with her teachers are always around her to support her throughout. Though there is no unnecessary anxiety as such. We are constantly trying to create a light environment at home and indulge our daughter in various recreational activities during family time.

Any comments on the balance between extracurricular activities and studies?

My daughter actively participated in stage activities like theatre and dance competitions during junior classes. But as she came into senior class her frequency of taking part in such activities has reduced, which happens commonly. She is now fully focused on her academics.

How are the teachers at this school?

There is absolutely no problem in approaching the teachers. We as parents have access to the teachers through regular PTMs. Apart from that we have dedicated WhatsApp groups for easy communication between parents and teachers from time to time.

Has Apeejay impacted your daughter positively?

Of course, both my daughters have grown holistically at this school. They have developed immense confidence after spending all these years in school. We, as parents, looked for good academics and overall personality development structure in the school, both of which have been duly fulfilled at Apeejay. I am happy to see that now my kids are well-honed to take on the world ahead.

Any special techniques teachers have adopted here?

The most crucial and effective approach that the teachers use here is an open discussion. Whenever we meet the teachers, we discuss the strengths and weaknesses of my daughter and have a productive discussion about how to utilise her strengths and how to improve her weak areas.
