Please tell us about your study strategy – how did you divide preparation of subjects

During my preparation phase, I tried many strategies of learning. But the strategy that works best in such competitive exams is consistency, when there are more than 70 chapters in a single 3 hour exam. Revising what was done in the class the same day after coming back home and practicing questions based on the topic really helped me in the end. Physics was of course the most time consuming, and Biology was the most volatile out of the three subjects.

How did you prepare for the weak areas in any subject

My weak subject was Chemistry for which I had to practice a bit more than the other subjects. I used to reserve some extra time in the day specifically for Chemistry. Reading the notes from school as well as NCERT multiple times is the way to go.

How did the school & teachers help you during the preparation

My school teachers were very helpful during the entire journey and always motivated all of us to keep working hard and be consistent with our daily studies. Our class teacher was also extremely supportive and advised me through the journey to help me achieve good marks.

Did you face any stress? How did you beat them?

As motivated as you may be, you always face stress during this phase. The best way is to talk to your friends who are in the same boat as you. Since you all are going through the same problems, you are bound to find a solution if you work together. Also, I used to talk to my parents about my problems and they were very supportive and helped me through the stress.

Any hobby you practiced as a stress buster

Yes, I used to sing and play the guitar during my breaks. These would help me calm my nerves.

How did you feel about being the topper? What is your aspiration next?

I felt great after the result was declared! I still however feel that I could have done better. But I was satisfied to see my parents happy and proud. The effort was worth it in the end. But this is just the first step in the long and tedious process of becoming a doctor. I wanna pursue MBBS in a good college and learn to become independent.

You mantra for success and tips for upcoming NEET aspirants

As such there is no mantra to success, there’s only persistence. The happiness and pride that your parents and teachers feel when they tell others about you is something that can not be expressed in mere words. In the process, there will be many challenges. You have to learn to balance studies with fun, the fun that you have after you’ve done your best is really something to work for. To all the future NEET aspirants, all the best, believe in yourself and stay calm, it’s just another exam.
