Origami is the perfect example of blending learning with fun. After all, this is what craft is, fun with knowledge. And that is exactly what happens at Apeejay School, Noida. In another endeavour to provide an opportunity to its students to showcase their creativity, imagination and artistic expression, the Primary department of Apeejay School, Noida organized an ‘Origami Art’ competition for the students of Class 2.

The students were tasked with creating two animal figures using origami techniques and they had to subsequently arrange them into a composition on an A4 sheet. Students chose their shape subjects from a variety of animals, and birds, demonstrating their latent creativity. It was a moment of sheer delight to witness the precision of students, as they applied various folding techniques on colourful shades of paper.
Each and every composition was unique, with students using colours and paper textures to enhance their presentations. This competition fostered a spirit of creativity, patience and attention to detail and was an impressive showcase of children’s creative streak.
The judges, Ms.Neetu Thapliyal and Ms.Somali Banerjee were amazed to see such exuberant talent. It was extremely tough for the judges to choose the winners however, the best entries were selected based on originality, neatness, and overall composition.
The first position was bagged by Hriday Datta from class 2-B while Shanaya Singh from class 2-C was the first runner up. The competition also had a best in class prize. Class 2-A had Dhruv Prem Boominathan as the best performer while class 2-B saw Ayaana Chilkoti and class 2-C witnessed Shivansh Diwan emerge as the best performer. And Arohi Navin was declared the best in class 2-D.

Addressing the audience, Primary Incharge, Ms. Smriti Samuel, applauded the young artists and congratulated the winners. She reiterated the importance of such competitions to help students in strengthening their creativity and encouraged all students to repeatedly take part in all competitions to discover the hidden talents and tap into their potential.
