Over 50 AI agents to enhance business automation

Published

on

At the CloudWorld 2024 conference in Las Vegas, Oracle launched over 50 role-based AI agents for its Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite, marking a significant advancement in generative AI for enterprise operations. These AI agents are designed to automate various business processes, moving beyond traditional chatbot functionalities to serve as intelligent work assistants.

The AI agents are tailored for different applications within Oracle Fusion Cloud. For example, in human capital management (HCM), these agents help with tasks such as shift scheduling and hiring and assist employees in understanding benefits.

In Supply Chain and Manufacturing, the agents provide contextual insights for handling order requests and suggest asset maintenance strategies. In Customer Experience (CX), they automate tasks like planning, research, contract workflows, and communications for sales representatives.

The introduction of AI agents reflects the growing maturity of generative AI technology, shifting from simple conversational bots to more complex applications that automate routine tasks and offer personalised insights. According to Gartner Research analyst Sid Nag, this development supports the transition from ideation to practical implementation in the generative AI market.

Oracle is not alone in this innovation. SaaS vendor ServiceNow recently announced plans to introduce AI agents in its platform for Customer Service Management and IT Service Management, aiming for a limited release in November 2024. These agents will autonomously identify and resolve problems with human oversight.

Oracle has also embedded new AI capabilities in other applications, such as predictive cash forecasting and automated transaction records in Oracle Cloud ERP, and AI-assisted authoring tools in Oracle Cloud CX to enhance buyer engagement.
