Currently working as the Centre Head at a Karnal-based school, Aditi Chaudhary has come a long way from her demanding work life at Jet Airways to the hustle bustle of the education domain. Yet the lessons she learnt at Apeejay School of Management (ASM) came in handy, both then as well as now. Let us know more about the management and leadership qualities Ms Chaudhary still applies at work. Read edited excerpts:
What does a regular day at the school look like?
It’s a bustling schedule! I manage the school’s administration, ensure discipline, maintain parent-teacher relationships, and oversee the overall functioning of the school. All the duties of a Principal.
Interesting! So, what inspired you to join the education sector, leaving behind the corporate world?
I initially worked in operations at Jet Airways. After moving to Karnal post-marriage, I transitioned into education. I began as a relationship manager, then became a zonal franchise manager, and now I’m the Centre Head. The education sector allows me to devote quality time to my family while offering immense learning opportunities.
How is the education sector different from your corporate experience?
The corporate world demands long hours, often leaving little time for family. Education, on the other hand, offers a balanced life. It’s incredibly fulfilling to contribute to the crucial developmental years of children, designing activities to enhance their motor skills and early learning.

What lessons from your days at Apeejay School of Management still help you in your role?
The most valuable takeaway is leadership and teamwork. At ASM, I learned how to manage projects, guide teams, and collaborate effectively. These skills are vital when managing a school and leading a staff team.
Any specific memory or lesson from ASM that has stayed with you?
Team-building exercises and group projects were my favorite. They not only helped me bond with my batchmates but also taught me the essence of collaboration and effective communication.
Finally, what advice would you like to share with current ASM students?
Give your 100%, stay true to your capabilities, and pursue what genuinely excites you. Success will follow!
