Investiture ceremonies hold a special place in the educational landscape, serving as a vital component of school culture and student development. Such events typically mark the induction of student leaders into their roles and are not merely ceremonial as they carry significant meaning and benefits for students, schools, and communities alike. One of the primary purposes of these ceremonies is to foster leadership skills among students.
In this vein, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar hosted its investiture ceremony, with the focus of empowering and inspiring the new generation to recognise their inherent worth.
With the blessings of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education, and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University and the guidance of Mr AK Sharma, the Principal of the school, this event served as a significant confidence booster for students.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp, followed by a heartfelt Saraswati Vandana. Ms Priya Rana, the House Coordinator, formally welcomed the newly elected School Council, who made a grand entrance to the energising beats of the school band, heads held high with pride.
Diljot Singh Minhas, a student of class XII (Commerce) and Gurleen Kaur, student of class XII (Medical stream) were appointed as Head Boy and Head Girl for the academic session 2024-25.
Tejas Pal and Simran Kahlon, students of class XI, hailing from non-medical and medical streams respectively, were appointed as Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl. Students appointed as Vice-house Captains, House Prefects, Sports Prefects, and Cleanliness and CCA Prefects for the four houses — Beas, Satluj, Saraswati, and Yamuna — proudly wore their badges.
Following the badge ceremony, the school flag and house flags were raised for the flag raising ceremony. The Principal administered the oath to the newly elected council, emphasising the importance of responsibility.
Speaking at the ceremony, he encouraged the students to strive for righteousness, hard work, and selfless service, reminding them that this honor is an opportunity to shape their character through discipline and merit. He urged them to respect the dignity of the school in all endeavors and to lead in a way that inspires future leaders.
The school choir, led by music teacher Ms Nidhi Sharma, performed the school song: Soaring High is My Nature. Class representatives were also presented with badges.
The ceremony also honoured the top achievers from classes VI to IX and XI with scholar badges
In their confident speeches, the new Head Boy and Head Girl pledged to usher in positive change. The stage was adorned with the vibrant colours of various house flags, reinforcing faith in the leadership potential of future generations.
Vice-principal of the School, Mrs Aarti Shorey Bhat concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging everyone’s contributions to the successful ceremony. The event closed with the National Anthem, leaving the eyes of the new leaders shining with promise.
