In a testament to their dedication and perseverance, the students of Apeejay School, Pitampura have achieved outstanding results in CBSE Class 10 Board Exams. Apeejay Newsroom had the privilege to speak with four of the school’s toppers, who shared insights into their preparation strategies, challenges, and future aspirations. Here are the highlights from our telephonic interviews with Divyanshi Singh, Vidit Bansal, Saanvi Kalra, and Vansh Garg.
Divyanshi Singh: Aiming High with Consistency
Divyanshi, who secured a remarkable 97%, expressed her delight upon receiving her results. “Actually, it was more than what I had expected, and I was very happy,” she shared. Her parents were overjoyed, having already checked her results before she got home from school. Divyanshi credits her success to consistent study habits, in-depth reading of NCERT textbooks, and rigorous practice with sample papers and previous years’ questions (PYQs). “Staying consistent and not leaving the preparation for the last minute is crucial,” she advised future aspirants.
Despite finding mathematics challenging initially, Divyanshi overcame her difficulties by seeking additional tutoring and focusing intensively on the subject post half-yearly exams, ultimately scoring 95 in the boards. She highlighted the invaluable support from her teachers, who provided ample practice materials and constant encouragement. Divyanshi’s go-to study resources included RD Sharma for maths and Lakhmir Singh for science. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a PCB stream and has aspirations of becoming a psychiatrist.
Vidit Bansal: Crafting Success
Vidit Bansal, with a percentile of 96.6%, was elated and somewhat surprised by his top score. “I never thought I would top the exam. I studied to score decent marks and ended up achieving my desired stream,” he remarked. Vidit emphasised the importance of adhering to NCERT as the foundation while also incorporating reference books and solving numerous sample papers to understand exam patterns and potential pitfalls.
Vidit found languages, particularly Hindi and English, to be his toughest subjects. He explained that the subjective nature of language exams made it challenging to align his answers with the examiner’s expectations. Vidit credited his improvement in presentation and writing to the guidance from his school teachers, who continuously pointed out areas for enhancement. He plans to take up commerce with maths, aspiring for a career in law and aiming for prestigious institutions like NLSIU Bangalore and NLU Lucknow.
Saanvi Kalra: Overcoming Challenges with Determination
Saanvi, the third topper also achieved a commendable 96.4%. The achievements of the students have been remarkable.
Vansh Garg: Striving for Excellence with Focused Effort
Vansh Garg, who also scored a 96.4%, described his reaction to his results as “amazing.” He recalled the mix of excitement and nervousness he felt as the announcement was made. Vansh’s preparation heavily relied on NCERT textbooks and practising previous years’ question papers, which he found crucial in his studies.
Social science was Vansh’s initial weak spot, but he overcame this challenge through dedicated study over a few months, eventually achieving an impressive score of 99. He credited his school teachers for their continuous support and the additional study materials provided. Vansh’s key advice for future students is to embrace hard work as the key to success. He plans to pursue PCM with an ambition to join IIT and specialise in computer science engineering.
