‘Apeejay has equipped me with a solid educational base and vital life skills’

Ayush Aryan, a proud alumnus of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, graduated this year. Over the past 14 years, Ayush has been an active participant in academic and extracurricular activities, developing a well-rounded personality. In a recent conversation, the Apeejay alumnus shared insights about his journey in alma mater , his passion for computer science engineering, and how the school has prepared him for future endeavours.

What inspired you to pursue computer science engineering?
I’ve always loved problem-solving and understanding how things work. My interest in math and science, combined with the tech learning I did during the lockdown period from YouTube, showed me the real-world impact of engineering. The blend of creativity and technical skills in engineering, along with the potential to make a positive difference, motivated me to choose this career path.

How did Apeejay School contribute to your overall development?
Apeejay has equipped me with a solid educational base and vital life skills, effectively preparing me for life beyond school. The school’s comprehensive approach ensured I am fully prepared to confront upcoming obstacles with self-assurance and adaptability. The support and guidance from teachers were instrumental in my personal growth.

Can you share some memorable experiences from your time at Apeejay?
It’s hard to pick just one, but participating in sports competitions and educational trips stands out. Being part of the school Basketball Team and winning the first position at the zonal level was a proud moment. These experiences taught me teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.

What extracurricular activities were you involved in at Apeejay?
I actively participated in various sports such as Basketball, Cricket, and Volleyball. I also held the position of director in the Interact Club, which provided opportunities for cultural exchange, leadership development, and community service. Additionally, I was involved in the NCC, which helped me develop discipline and courage.

How did these activities at Apeejay shape your personality?
Engaging in sports and clubs taught me invaluable lessons about teamwork, leadership, and selflessness. These activities helped me develop a well-rounded personality and taught me how to manage time effectively, work under pressure, and lead by example.

What are your career aspirations in engineering?
My goals for an engineering career include developing strong technical skills, working on innovative projects, and eventually taking on leadership roles. I aspire to continuously learn and grow, contribute to meaningful advancements in my field, and mentor others along the way. Ultimately, I aim to make a significant, positive impact through my work.

What life lessons have you learned during your time at Apeejay?
One vital lesson that resonates deeply is the unwavering understanding that no matter how bleak the circumstances may appear, they will inevitably transform for the better. This insight has ingrained in me the belief that after every stumble, there is always a subsequent rise. This perspective will undoubtedly shape my future trajectory.

What do you hope to gain from your engineering education?
I hope to gain strong technical skills in mathematics, physics, and programming, along with practical experience in problem-solving and project management. I aim to improve my communication and teamwork abilities and develop an understanding of industry standards and emerging technologies. These skills and knowledge will help me tackle complex engineering challenges and excel in my future career.

Do you have any hobbies that align with your career interests?
Yes, I enjoy solving puzzles and playing strategy games. These hobbies help sharpen my problem-solving skills and strategic thinking, which are beneficial in tackling complex challenges in computer science and engineering.
