Pallavi Sinha enrolled her daughter Vanya Shinde in nursery this year at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida. In an interview, the mother, who is pursuing MBA at present, talks about her first interaction with the school principal, how teachers conduct their classes, and its impact on her daughter. Edited excerpts:
Why did you choose Apeejay International, Greater Noida, for your daughter?
I got good reviews about the school from its alumni, who also happened to be my neighbours. I also checked some reviews online. After researching several schools, my husband and I shortlisted two and finally chose Apeejay for our daughter.
What was your first interaction during admission like?
Our first interaction was with the school principal Dr Sarita Pande. We had quite an informal conversation where we were made to feel comfortable. In fact, it was after our interaction that we were convinced about enrolling our daughter at Apeejay International, Greater Noida. We were also impressed with the way she talked to students on a daily basis.

What kind of developments have you observed in Vanya?
With no prior experience of a play school due to Covid, Vanya took some time initially to adjust to the environment at Apeejay. She also had to give school a miss in between due to health reasons. However, she has settled in now.
Does she participate in co-curricular activities?
Vanya has participated in almost every kind of co-curricular activity and is doing very well.
Have the teaching methods in class been useful for your daughter?
The teachers use interactive methods to clear concepts. They also kept me updated with all class assignments and homework when Vanya was unable to attend school. They have been very supportive. I look forward to seeing them incorporate more play into their curriculum so that children can enjoy their time at school a lot more.
