Apeejay School of Management (ASM) continues to empower students with strong industry-driven learning. One such successful example is Sourav Kumar, an alumni from the Batch of 2025, who has secured a placement at Biddrx as a Sales Executive – Automotive. With dual specialisations in Marketing and Business Analytics, Sourav shares how the institute’s practical learning approach shaped his career readiness.
Read edited excerpts:
Sourav, what learning experiences at ASM helped you the most during placements?
Subjects like Marketing Management, Consumer Behaviour, Digital Marketing, and Business Analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, and SPSS were game changers for me. These subjects not only strengthened my theoretical foundation but also sharpened my analytical thinking. I could confidently handle both the written tests and the interview rounds because I had conceptual clarity and hands-on exposure.
How did your internships or live projects contribute to your success?
My Digital Marketing internship at Rocket Genie helped me a lot. We worked on real campaigns where I learned how customer behaviour translates into marketing decisions. For example, I used data insights to recommend ad optimisation strategies during the internship. Even in live classroom projects, our faculty always encouraged us to think practically. So during interviews, I could relate every question to a real business scenario—which impressed the recruiters.

What motivates you the most about joining Biddrx?
I am excited to work directly with customers and understand market trends in the automotive segment. The role gives me the perfect blend of customer interaction, business analytics, and strategy. The opportunity to grow professionally and take up new challenges keeps me highly motivated.
How does your dual specialisation give you an edge?
Marketing helps me decode customer needs and communicate value effectively. On the other hand, Business Analytics enables data-backed decisions. Whether it’s understanding performance metrics or analysing customer insights—this combination ensures I can contribute to both strategy and execution.
What are your top strengths that helped you secure this role?
How would you describe ASM’s support during placements?
The Placement Cell has been extremely helpful. From regular aptitude training and mock interviews to company insights—the continuous guidance gave me confidence in every round. Their encouragement kept me focused and prepared throughout the journey.
