The Marketing Club of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, recently organised an Industrial Visit for the students of BBA and B.Com (Fifth Semester). The visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial exposure by familiarising students with modern production and supply chain practices.
The group visited the Verka Milk Plant, Jalandhar, where they experienced firsthand how theoretical concepts translate into practical applications. The students, brimming with zeal and curiosity, explored the entire journey of milk processing — from quality testing, pasteurisation, homogenisation, to final packaging. Observing state-of-the-art machinery and advanced processes gave them a deeper appreciation for the precision and discipline required in the dairy industry.
A major highlight of the visit was witnessing the stringent hygiene protocols followed at every step to ensure freshness, safety, and quality in the products. This exposure not only introduced students to modern dairy technology but also broadened their understanding of supply chain management, quality control systems, and large-scale production processes. The real-world perspective enabled them to connect classroom theories with industry practices, making the experience a highly enriching learning opportunity.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, commended the Marketing Club for its continuous efforts in organising such educational trips. He remarked, “Initiatives like these play a vital role in shaping well-rounded professionals, as they allow students to apply their academic knowledge in practical, industry-relevant contexts.”
The visit was coordinated and guided by Dr. Rajneesh Arya and Mr. Rahul Handa from the School of Management, who ensured that the students made the most of the learning exposure. They encouraged the participants to observe the processes closely and ask relevant questions, making the visit more interactive and meaningful.
The Industrial Visit to the Verka Milk Plant proved to be more than just a field trip; it was a window into the complexities of industrial operations, the importance of efficiency, and the role of technology in maintaining quality standards. Students returned with not just enhanced knowledge but also with a greater appreciation for the value chain that ensures everyday essentials like milk reach households safely and efficiently.
By combining practical exposure with academic learning, AIMETC once again demonstrated its commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals through experiential education.
