Class 10 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board exams in Hindi have a major contribution in the overall academic performance of the students. The subject covers four major sections of language. It consists of Reading, Grammar, and Literature and Writing Skills.

This year class X Hindi Board exam is scheduled on February 21, 2024. The subject consists of both practical and theory sections. The MCQ consists of unseen passages, grammar, literature and theory consists of descriptive questions and writing skills.

The total marks for the Hindi Board exam are distributed among different sections, including language skills and literature. Practical exams are also marked based on the student’s performance in reading, writing, and comprehension.

According to Ruby Bhatnagar, TGT- Hindi, at Apeejay School, Noida, students are encouraged to focus on grammar rules, vocabulary, literature, and comprehension skills. Reading Hindi literature and practicing writing in Hindi can enhance language proficiency.

·        Students should prepare each and every topic thoroughly. They should read the NCERT book thoroughly.

·        For a quick revision, solve at least 10 sample papers and go through value points of each chapter.

·        Revise grammar diligently and practice extensively using sample papers.

·        Ensure a deep understanding of the topics before the exam.

·        Follow the sequence of questions, adhere to the prescribed writing section format, and be mindful of word limits.

·        Allocate time wisely: 50 minutes for MCQs, 60 minutes for 60-word questions, and 50 minutes for writing skills.

·        Dedicate 20 minutes for a quick yet effective revision.

·        Spelling should be taken care of. Presentation matters.

“It’s advisable for students to revise grammar thoroughly as it is easy to score. More practice will make them perfect for the same. While attempting the unseen passage, students should read the questions of the paragraph first, then read the passage at least twice to get the correct answer.

Then grammar topic padbandh should be thoughtfully chosen as students can score easily in this topic. Vaakya sanrachna is an important topic to be covered. Selection of ‘vaakya ke bhed’ should be correctly done. Samaas and muhaavre also should be handled with care as these topics are scoring enough, so must be practiced more. Students should always use simple sentences while writing descriptive answers,” Bhatnagar added.

·        Not to make spelling errors of words that are already available in the question paper.

·        Word limit should be taken care of.

·        It is always suggested that students should highlight the main point of answers to make the answer.
