Young leaders of this school take oath at a vibrant investiture ceremony

The celebration at Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park symbolised the school’s commitment to nurturing leadership qualities in students

Recently, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park celebrated its investiture ceremony. The event that took place in the auditorium of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park was abuzz with a lot of excitement and energy as all the stakeholders – the teachers, the students, and the parents – gathered to witness this important transition.

Welcoming everyone gathered, Ms Rashika said that it is a momentous day, where we will witness the transformation of our young leaders. The event was graced by Ms Nisha Berlia along with the Principal, Mr Purshottam Dutt Vashist, Vice-principal, Ms Neha Sharma, dedicated teachers, proud parents, and most importantly, the heart and soul of our school – the students. “This ceremony not only signifies the exception of our school council members and pre-factorial body but also symbolises our commitment to nurturing leadership qualities among our students,” she said.

The ceremony began with the lamp-lighting by Ms Nisha Berlia, Mr Vashist, and Ms Sharma. This was followed by the ASI choir taking centrestage to set the tone for the day. The student leaders of Apeejay School International for the academic year 2024-25 were invited on the stage; these included: Nia Meghan Lobo (Head girl), Tani Bansal (Vice-head girl), Arahan Chaudhary (Vice-head boy), Vedant Sehrawat, (Junior head boy), Aahana Mathur (Junior head girl), and Faraz Ahmad (Sports captain). Mr Vashist was called upon the stage to administer the oath to these newly appointed leaders and pinned the badges.

The newly appointed House leaders and Prefects were called upon the stage to take their oath. These included: Mohd Zeehan (Tribe leader – Air), Vismaya Sreekanth (Tribe prefect – Air), Arisha Gudwani (Tribe Prefect – Air), Harshitha Khurrana (Tribe prefect – Air), Ada Bharti (Tribe Prefect – Air), Ibhanan Choubey (Tribe Prefect – Air); Anandita Bhardwaj (Tribe leader- Water), Viraj Panjabi (Tribe Prefect – Water), Diaa Arora (Tribe Prefect – Water), Rivan Berlia (Tribe Prefect – Water), Ariham Jain (Tribe Prefect – Water), Arnav Kumar (Tribe Prefect – Water); Ria Chadha (Tribe Leader – Fire), Aidan Wani (Tribe Prefect – Fire), Sia Arora (Tribe Prefect – Fire), Vivaan Verma (Tribe Prefect – Fire), Agam Bansal (Tribe Prefect – Fire), Harrjas Khurana (Tribe Prefect – Fire); Bhavya Dugar, (Tribe leader – Earth), Sanaya Ali (Triber Prefect – Earth), Sathak Raj Kapoor (Tribe Prefect – Earth), Shanaya Sharma (Tribe Prefect – Earth), Aditi Hasija (Tribe Prefect – Earth, and Smera Sachdeva (Tribe Prefect – Earth).

This was followed by introducing the student council members. Vaishanavi Chaudhary (President), Aarya Nandwani (Member), Pihu Narula ( Member), Neal Verma (Member), Surya Kapil, Member), Vivaan Khann (Member), Aaditya Nath Mathur (Member), Aarush Chawla (Member), Arshee Sachdeva (Member), Manya Verma (Secretary), and Saanvi Sharma (Editor-in-chief). These newly appointed Student Council members were administered the oath by Mr Vashist.

Speaking at the event Mr Vashist said: “I want to share a timeless message with you through a poem by Rudyard Kipling. It speaks of the qualities that will not only guide you as a leader but also shape your character for life. Kipling reminds us that true leadership requires composure, especially when others around you may be uncertain or overwhelmed. Keep a clear mind and trust yourself, while remaining humble enough to understand the doubts of others. Patience and integrity are the pillars of strong leadership,” Mr Vashist shared.

Taking the stage, Nia Lobo, extended a heartfelt thanks to all those who have made this day possible. She extended her appreciation to Mrs Sushma Paul BerliaChairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education, Mr Nishant Berlia, Co-Promoter Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Pro-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University; Mr Aditya Berlia, Co-Promoter of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Pro-Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University; Dr Neha Berlia, Co-Promoter of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group and Pro-Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University.

“I am also grateful to Education Advisor Dr VS Garg for his continuous encouragement and guidance, which has enriched us in our pursuit of excellence. A sincere thanks to Principal Mr Vashist for his constant encouragement and support. A special mention goes to Sonali Saxena ma’am, our MYP Coordinator, and Kairee Arora ma’am, our Assistant DP Coordinator, for ensuring the smooth execution of all our activities. We extend our gratitude to the House Wardens, teaching staff, fellow students, and volunteers. Finally, thank you to the parents whose presence and support make this day truly special,” she said.

A parent who attended the function shared that the entire ceremony was excellent. Such events help students understand the essence of leadership. “Today, learning leadership qualities at the school level is important as it sets the tone for their professional journey,” Mr Rajesh Gupta said.

Another parent said that her daughter being given a leadership post will ensure that she will excel in the real world as well. “My daughter is good at everything that she does. I am sure that the responsibility that she has been given will be delivered with due diligence,” the mother shared.
