Young achievers from Apeejay School, Faridabad made the institution proud by securing a Bronze Medal at the 12th Late Smt. Rajeshwari Paul Inter Apeejay Short Tennis Tournament, held at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. The Class I students Rajvi Rampal, Anaika Mehta, Pratyush Dagar and Advik Singh showcased not just budding talent but also remarkable confidence, teamwork and sportsmanship at such an early age. In a telephonic interaction, the young players shared their experiences, offering a heartwarming glimpse into their journey on the court.
Rajvi Rampal: Playing Beyond Fear
For Rajvi Rampal, the experience was a mix of nerves and pride. “I was really nervous but also proud of myself. It doesn’t matter that I got third position, what matters is that I gave my best,” she shared. Rajvi enjoys tennis because it keeps her active and allows her to play outdoors, something she truly values.
She fondly credited her elder brother and her teacher for guiding her early steps in tennis. Her favourite moment came during her first serve, when initial nervousness slowly turned into confidence. “After a few shots, I got the hang of it and started enjoying the game,” she said, adding that celebrating with food and swings is her favourite post-match ritual.
Anaika Mehta: Power and Passion on Court
Anaika Mehta expressed her joy simply yet confidently: “I feel good.” What she loves most about tennis is hitting the ball with full power and watching it travel far. Her training, she said, has helped her understand the game better and grow stronger with each practice session.
Practicing four times a week, Anaika’s dedication reflects in her performance. One of her favourite moments was striking the ball with full strength during the match. And when it comes to celebrations, Anaika adds her own flair. “I like to dance after winning,” she smiled.
Pratyush Dagar: Team Spirit and Determination
Pratyush Dagar described his experience as “very happy and exciting.” He particularly enjoys playing strong shots during matches and credits his coach for teaching him the fundamentals of tennis.
Winning the medal was a proud moment for him, but what stood out most was the sense of teamwork. “I hugged my teammates after winning,” he shared. Practising both at school and home, Pratyush is steadily building his skills and confidence on the court.
Advik Singh: A Promising Young Player
Advik Singh also played a key role in the team’s success, demonstrating enthusiasm and determination throughout the tournament.
