As the trailblazing toppers of Class VIII-B ascend into the dynamic world of Class IX, they carry with them not just stellar report cards but the glow of perseverance, discipline, and unwavering commitment. With carefully crafted timetables, tireless revision schedules, and a hunger for excellence, they turned late-night studies into early morning triumphs.
Meet Kyra Singh, Yashica Garg and Prisha Grover, who have scored 96.72%, 93.72% and 88.72% respectively in their final exams for the academic year 2024-25.
Sharing about her preparation strategy, Kyra said, “My preparation strategy is to stay consistent and organised in my studies. I make sure to understand each topic clearly and revise it regularly. I focus more on subjects that I find challenging. I clear my doubts quickly by asking my teachers and make short notes for quick revision. I try to stay stress-free and confident by taking breaks and staying positive.”
Yashica, on the other hand, was focused on learning the meaning behind academic concepts rather than merely relying on rote learning. “My strategy was to study regularly and understand the topics clearly. I made a list of topics and planned how much to study each day. I also made short notes, solved old question papers, and revised often. Taking small breaks helped me stay fresh and focused,” she added.
For Prisha, creating a structured study plan and practising time management did the trick. “I have always followed early morning study sessions with consistent breaks, and a balance of subjects with a focus on revision and practice,” she said.
Their journey — marked by sincerity and focus — has made their proud parents beam and their teachers applaud with admiration. So, what were the challenges that came during the exam time?
“The area that I felt maximum pressure was in maintaining focus, managing time effectively, and dealing with exam anxiety,” quipped Prisha.
While Kyra shared, “The most challenging part of exams for me was studying Math and SST. In Math, I had to cover many topics, and some required extra practice to understand clearly. It took time to solve different types of questions and avoid silly mistakes. SST was also challenging because it includes three different subjects — History, Geography, and Civics — each with a lot of information to remember. Managing time and revising all the chapters properly was a bit tough, but I tried my best by making short notes and revising regularly.”
Moreover, Yashica faced difficulty in studying for long hours every day without losing focus. “Sometimes I felt tired or bored, and it was hard to keep going. Also, remembering so many topics from different subjects was a bit stressful. But I managed it by taking small breaks,” she expressed.
Having said so, these challenges never deterred any of them from losing their power of motivation and grit to achieve the targeted scores. These young achievers are not just academic champions; they are beacons of inspiration, lighting the path for their peers with the brilliance of their dedication and the sparkle of their success.
