Purpose & Vision

The Buildathon is more than a competition. Its aims include:

  • Instilling innovation culture in schools
  • Promoting problem-solving skills through hands-on learning
  • Encouraging self-reliance and locally inspired solutions
  • Aligning with NEP 2020’s focus on creativity, critical thinking, and experiential learning
  • Highlighting student innovators on national and global platforms

This initiative also builds on past successes like the School Innovation Marathon 2024 and supports programs like the Atal Tinkering Labs and Student Innovator Programme.

Why It Matters

  • It gives students a chance to ideate and build real solutions, not just theoretical ones
  • It pushes innovation even in remote and underserved areas by providing visibility and support
  • It aligns with India’s broader goal of becoming globally recognised as a hub of innovation
