To celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised a grand three-day Inter-house Dance Competition from August 13-15, 2024. This vibrant event, held under the banner of patriotism, showcased the immense talent and dedication of students from classes I to XII while promoting cultural pride and artistic excellence.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the tricolour by the Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha, followed by the National Anthem, filling the air with a sense of unity and patriotism. Students across all grades participated in various activities, including a fancy dress event for nursery to class XII students, and a special assembly by class VIII, which included a play celebrating the rich culture of Haryana. The assembly’s captivating performance truly stole the show and set the tone for the exciting competition that followed.

Day 1: Junior Solo Dance Competition

The festivities kicked off on August 13 with the Junior Solo Dance Competition for students in classes I to V. Each of the 12 participants represented their respective houses — Kabir, Gautam, Nanak, and Vivekananda — with performances that blended grace, rhythm, and creativity. The young dancers left the audience spellbound, making it a tough task for the judges to select the winners. Ultimately, Kayna from class V of Nanak House won first place with her mesmerising routine. Navisha from class V of Vivekananda House secured the second position, while Tiksha from Kabir House and Bhisham from Gautam House shared the third position. Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha distributed the prizes and praised the dedication of all participants.

Day 2: Middle School Solo Dance Competition

The second day, August 14, brought the Middle School Solo Dance Competition for students in classes VI to VIII. The competition was fierce, with 12 dancers showcasing their passion and energy as they represented their houses. Navasha from class VI of Vivekananda House clinched the first position with a stellar performance. Ananya from class VIII of Gautam House and Manya from class VII of Nanak House shared the second position. Harsh and Hiral from class VIII of Kabir House took third place with their dynamic routines. Dr Vashishtha once again acknowledged the students’ hard work and talent, encouraging them to continue honing their skills.

Day 3: Senior School Solo Dance Competition

The grand finale on August 15 featured the Senior School Solo Dance Competition, with participants from classes IX to XII. These senior students brought a heightened level of sophistication and maturity to their performances, making the competition an exhilarating spectacle. Sejal from class IX of Gautam House emerged as the winner with her extraordinary routine. Khushi from class XII of Gautam House and Chahak Bansal from class XII of Vivekananda House shared the second position. The third position was jointly awarded to Vaishnavi from class X of Nanak House and Khanak from class IX of Kabir House.

A Celebration of Talent and Patriotism

As the three-day event concluded, Principal Dr Vashishtha expressed his admiration for the participants, highlighting how their performances embodied the spirit of independence, creativity, and excellence. His words of encouragement inspired both the performers and the audience, leaving everyone eager for future displays of talent.
