Recently, Apeejay School, Nerul, hosted an exciting Global Culinary Art Activity, turning the courtyard into a vibrant hub of international tastes and family bonding. The event brought together parents and students from Classes I to V, forming dynamic parent–child duos who stepped into the role of chefs, minus the flames, but packed with fun!

Each team arrived armed with their own ingredients and bubbling creative ideas. With just 1 hour and 30 minutes on the clock, they whisked, chopped, mixed, and plated to bring the flavours of the world to life. Every team had to prepare at least two dishes, ensuring the tables brimmed with diverse food artistry.

The excitement was palpable as the venue transformed into a global food street. The aroma of fresh herbs and spices lingered in the air while colourful and meticulously-plated dishes reflected culinary cultures from around the world. From spicy and healthy Katori Chaat, embodying the zest of India in delicate and elegant Japanese sushi, the creations impressed both the judges and enthusiastic audience. Families cheered on one another as children confidently showcased their cooking skills alongside their parents.

Judges were full of admiration, calling the event ‘delightful blend of creativity, teamwork, and cultural exploration’. They applauded the efforts of participants who not only prepared fabulous dishes but also highlighted the importance of learning beyond classrooms.

Winners were awarded exciting prizes for their outstanding performance, but what truly warmed hearts was the school’s thoughtful gesture of recognising every participant. Each parent and child proudly received a certificate of participation, celebrating their enthusiasm, teamwork, and learning spirit.

The activity wasn’t just a cooking competition; it was an experience that celebrated global diversity, family collaboration, confidence, and joy in culinary expression. The event encouraged students to step into new roles, communicate creatively, and appreciate different cultures through the universal language of food.

A resounding cheer echoed across the courtyard as the event concluded, leaving behind cherished memories and eager anticipation for the next delicious chapter.
