Organising regular events and functions encourages and allows students to interact better with peers, promoting teamwork, communication, and leadership skills. These experiences are crucial for social development and building confidence, which is why it has been said to choose a school that offers a holistic development education.

“The way the communication is happening at this school through emails or WhatsApp groups, and the kind of opportunities now the children are getting, whether it is in terms of career counseling sessions or any other competitions, Apeejay is the best,” says Ms Taruna Barthwal, a Psychologist by profession and mother of Parva Barthwal, student of Class XII, Apeejay School, Noida.

In a telephonic conversation, the mother talks about how co-curricular activities are important for the personality development of the child something that Apeejay excels at.

How has been your child’s experience at this school within the last 13 years?

It’s been over 20 years of association with Apeejay now, spanning across generations who have also studied here. The experience of Parva at this school has been no less than an exceptional experience and a great journey heading toward his future endeavours.

What made you choose Apeejay for your son?

Apeejay Schools hold a great reputation. They have an excellent mix of academics and extracurriculars. The environment here doesn’t molly-cuddle the children. This helps them learn life’s lessons, preparing them for the real world. We never wanted a high-profile school as our son; we wanted him to travel by school bus and study in a non-AC school environment.

Does he feel excited to go to school?

He consistently shows enthusiasm and motivation for attending school each day. He genuinely enjoys his school experience, appreciates his teachers, and cherishes the friendships he has made there.

Is he active in any extracurricular activities?

He has been actively involved in MUN debates and previously participated in sports as well. Since COVID-19, his participation in sports has decreased, but he remains engaged in other activities.

Do you think taking part in extracurricular activities helps students grow better?

During the COVID-19 lockdown, when he was in class VIII, he became an introvert, with minimal interaction and few friends, as noted by teachers. However, an opportunity arose when the school organised an educational trip to Singapore. Despite initial reluctance, we encouraged him to participate, he eventually decided to go.

Being the only senior from his school (Noida branch) on the trip, he returned as a transformed person — more confident, aware, and open. This experience had a profound positive impact on him, fostering personal growth and broadening his perspective through interactions with peers from diverse backgrounds.

What do you like the most about this school?

I appreciate Apeejay’s commitment to consistency with their PTM meetings. Despite challenges like COVID-19, they ensured these meetings happen without fail. Even if it’s not on the usual fourth Saturday of the month, they are scheduled for another Saturday of the month, ensuring ongoing communication between parents and teachers.
