Safety and preparedness are a priority for all. In line with this commitment, Apeejay School, Model Town, organised a fire extinguisher practice session for its staff. The session aimed to familiarise participants with the proper use of fire extinguishers, ensuring they could respond swiftly in case of a small fire emergency.
The training was conducted in a structured and hands-on manner, allowing staff members to not only understand the theoretical aspects of fire safety but also apply them in real-life scenarios. Such training sessions are essential in schools, offices, and public spaces, where quick action can prevent significant damage and ensure everyone’s safety.

Training Led by Experts
A professional trainer led the session, beginning with an introduction to fire safety protocols. The trainer explained the different types of fire extinguishers, their uses, and the importance of quick action in case of an emergency. Participants were also informed about potential fire hazards in the school environment and how to minimise risks.
Additionally, staff members were educated about the Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep (PASS technique), which is a universally recommended method for handling fire extinguishers. This structured approach helps ensure efficiency and effectiveness when putting out a fire.
Practical Demonstrations
The session was interactive, allowing participants to engage in practical demonstrations. Each staff member had the opportunity to handle a fire extinguisher and practice putting out a controlled flame in a fire tray. Trainers closely observed their techniques, providing real-time feedback on posture, aiming, and the sweeping motion required for effective fire suppression.
This hands-on practice helped reinforce confidence and competence among the participants. Many staff members expressed their appreciation for the session, stating that they felt more prepared to handle fire-related emergencies.

With the successful completion of this fire extinguisher training, Apeejay School, Model Town, has taken another step towards ensuring the safety and security of its students and staff. The initiative not only enhanced awareness but also equipped the school personnel with essential firefighting skills that could be crucial in an emergency.
The session concluded with the trainer emphasising the importance of regular fire drills and proactive safety measures. Staff members were encouraged to stay vigilant and report any fire hazards immediately. The school administration reaffirmed its commitment to conducting periodic safety training, ensuring a well-prepared and secure environment for all.
