‘This school carries the legacy of excellence’

At the nursery level, a school plays a crucial role in laying the foundation for a child’s lifelong learning journey. “We attended an education fair at the expo centre where Apeejay Education clicked us. We asked people around and everyone had a good opinion about the school. We visited the campus and loved it. The vibe of the school is very positive,” shares Renuka Madan, whose son, Divyam, studies in the nursery at Apeejay School, Noida.

Read on to know how emphasis is placed on developing essential skills such as communication, motor coordination, and social interaction.

How is the parent-teacher interaction here?

The regular PTMs allow us to meet the teachers very often. The slightest change in the child’s behaviour is instantly addressed. The teachers are also available over WhatsApp in case of emergencies and we receive all updates on parentsapp. I love how involved teachers are and how they take notice of little things regarding the children.

What has your child learned so far academically?

Divyam has learned to write in both capital and small letters. Honestly, I was not expecting him to make this much progress in nursery and we are more than impressed. He knows his numbers. He knows his poems and he has a good understanding of whatever is being taught to him.

What best practices do teachers use here?

Learning through activities is not only fun but it stays with the child forever. The teachers come up with all sorts of activities and children love to play and learn. They are learning through dance, craft and all sorts of activities.

What are the core strength areas of the school?

The school has a huge campus which allows them a lot of space for a science park, swimming pool. Apeejay School being a very old institution has stability. They have experience and the staff is good. They understand the concern of the parents. We are fully satisfied with the school.

How is the school promoting holistic education?

The children know their prayers, they are participating in activities involving their parents, also grandparents (eg, Grandparents’ Day). They are learning to be themselves when they make a choice with respect to their favourite toys. They are not just learning academically, they are exploring the possibilities in the world and building personality. They have activities which help them to feel and express themselves.
