Every child is special to his/her parents. It is for this reason that every parent prioritises a healthy environment at school for their child. Most often adjustment isn’t smooth sailing for many children and it is during these frightful times that the school should step in to ease the tension that exists.

Meet Bharti Rawal Mishra, mother of Rakshita Mishra, a student at Apeejay Noida who suggests that her daughter was really impressed by the welcoming attitude of the staff and other students at this school.

 Excerpts from the interview.

Is the Board exam pressure building up already?

My daughter has taken the Humanities stream. She is not under any pressure for the Boards, rather she is enjoying her studies. I give full credit to the teachers at her school who have made sure she doesn’t feel anxious regarding anything.

Why did you choose Apeejay as an admission choice?

We relocated from Lucknow to Delhi-NCR and were looking for an apt school for my daughter. My close friend suggested this school was perfect for my daughter. After looking closely we understood that this school fulfilled all our criteria and then the rest is history.

 Are the teachers easily approachable?

We are very comfortable with the teachers at the school. They are very friendly and helpful. My daughter discusses and shares everything with her teachers regarding academics and other age-related issues if any.

How often do you interact with your daughter about school?

We talk daily regarding school activities and everything she learnt and did at school. She will narrate all her experiences including little issues she faced excitedly which really helps me understand how my child is faring at school.

How is her school life going on?

Rakshita always tells me that she receives many opportunities to explore herself at school. Since my husband has a transferable job, my daughter had to study in different schools so far. But now in Apeejay, she calls it the best school and feels satisfied here.

Any comments regarding the balance between academics and extracurricular activities?

Both academics and cultural activities are balanced well at school. I am happy to see my daughter studying sincerely and also taking a keen interest in the cultural activities at school. Recently, she has been actively participating in inter-school competitions and annual day celebrations.

Any positive impact school has made on your child.

Yes, I have noticed that she has become more determined and confident. She constantly tells me that the Apeejay environment is very open and inclusive. Other students have accepted her well and she feels like one of them.

How much do you agree with the adage: School is the second home for the child?

I absolutely agree with this saying. Since Rakshita is my only child, I have observed that she feels extremely comfortable at school. My child openly shares everything with her teachers and with me too. So everything is quite transparent between all of us.
